Manage production in real time (simulation and optimization)
Having a reliable model of the plant, an accurate digital twin, makes it possible to simulate and optimize its operation. Simulating means obtaining a precise operating cost for the current configuration, based on site data, in silent mode. Optimizing means adding degrees of freedom to the model in order to make concrete proposals to operators for reducing operating costs (adjusting the loads of steam producers, eliminating vent losses, switching swappable turbines, deciding whether or not to produce electricity through cogeneration, etc.). Whether in simulation or optimization (the two are generally run sequentially), the calculations are performed in silent mode, at a chosen frequency (usually hourly) to provide a clear, "real-time" view of the plant's situation along with proposals for improving production.
Plan production (multi-period optimization: production planning & scheduling)
